Questions parents ask
How long does a book take?
Your book is usually ready in about an hour or two. We will send the finished PDF to your email as soon as it is ready. Check your spam or promotions folder if you do not see it.
What does my book actually include?
A complete 10-chapter storybook: 2 text pages and 2 illustrations per chapter (20 illustrations total), plus a title page, dedication page, opening note, and back matter with discussion questions and a draw-along prompt. Delivered as a PDF.
What illustration styles are available?
You can choose any style in the creation form: warm watercolor, soft painterly, classic children’s book, cute cartoon, whimsical fantasy, gentle woodland, bright colorful modern, minimal simple shapes, or Ghibli-inspired cozy. You can even make your own style. The style you choose is applied consistently across all 20 illustrations.
How much does a book cost?
A digital storybook is $19.99. One payment per book, no subscription, no account required.
Who owns the book?
You do. Full stop. Once your book is generated and delivered, it belongs to you. Print it, frame it, share it with family, save it forever — it's yours. PageCub makes no claim to the story or illustrations created for your child.
What age range is PageCub for?
PageCub stories are written for children roughly ages 3 to adult. You can specify your child's age in the creation form and the story length and vocabulary will be shaped accordingly.
Can I preview before I buy?
Yes. During the creation process you can generate a free preview of Chapter 1, including the first illustration, before you commit to the full book. If you like what you see, you proceed. If you want a different illustration style, go back and choose another.
Can I order a physical copy?
Print fulfillment is coming soon — hardcover, approximately 48 pages. For now, PageCub delivers a high-quality PDF you can read, share, or print at home.
Do I need an account?
No account required. After checkout, you receive a private link by email to check your book's status and access the finished PDF.
Is my child's information safe?
Yes. Details you provide about your child are used only to create your book. We do not sell, share, or broker that information with any third party. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
How is the book actually made?
Every book is generated from scratch using the details you provide — no templates, no pre-written stories. The story that comes out couldn’t have been written for any other child, because no other child’s parent filled out that form. PageCub uses automated creative tools to do the writing and illustrating; no human author reviews your specific book before delivery.
Is this actually a custom story, or a template with my child’s name?
It’s a fully original story. There is no template. The story doesn’t exist before you describe your child. What you get back is built entirely from your inputs — the character’s appearance, the challenge they face, the world they move through, the lesson at the end. None of that is predetermined. A different parent filling out the form would get a completely different book. Your kid gets a book as unique as they are.
What if I'm not happy with the result?
If your book fails to be made due to a technical error on our end, we will refund or remake at no charge. Because we start making it immediately after payment and it involves significant creative processing, we cannot offer refunds for books that were successfully made and delivered.
Can I make a book for a grandchild, niece, or nephew?
Yes, as long as you are the parent or guardian, or have explicit permission from the child's parent or guardian.
What information should I include?
The most useful details are warm and specific: personality quirks, what they love, what they're going through, how they look, and the feeling or lesson you want the story to leave behind.
